Your hand feels so tiny now inside of mine
Skin like dry paper, covered in vines
They spread like a roadmap of all that you’ve seen
I wish I could visit all the places you’ve been
We sit here together like so many Sundays
You say that’s what Sundays are for
It’s a tradition in our family
That’s something I can’t ignore

Reverent and Solemn
A moment of Silence
Hands Joined around the table in love
Will we remember?
Will we continue?

I feel your hand squeezing as you watch them drifting
Your eyes sending silent commands
I wish I could tell you, tell you they hear it
I hope someday they understand

They’re too young to follow the line
They don’t care what came before
Maybe it just doesn’t matter anymore

Someday I’ll be at the head of this table
The ghost of your fingers in mine
I'll carry on with all that you started
I'll Pass it on when it’s time
